On the eleventh day of Christmas...

Welcome to the 11th Day of Christmas - WOW!!! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I can't believe its almost here. I hope your holiday plans are shaping up to be fabulous! Remember yesterday when I asked you how things were coming along for you? Well, today, I am going to be a cooking fool! I have lasagna to make for Christmas Eve dinner with my in-laws, and on Christmas Day, most of my family is coming here to Pennsylvania to spend the day with us... so, I have a few things I'll be preparing ahead of time so I'm not RACING on Friday morning.

Today, it is my honor and pleasure to be passing out your 12 Days of Christmas gift....

And, I hope you not only love my gift but that it also tempts you to get in your kitchen and get some extra special baking done for your families! I was going to make you a template... but, if you're following along lately, you might have seen that there will be a special holiday card edition of the ScrapMatters newsletter this week... and a little birdie MIGHT have told you there will be a freebie in that newsletter from me. Maybe ;) OK, there IS a freebie from me in that holiday card newsletter and YES, its a template! So, since I didn't want to bore you all to tears, I thought of something else for my own blog.

Every year, I make SCADS and SCADS of Christmas cookies. It is a tradition that began with my mom as a young girl that I have cherished for years. When I married, I started collecting some of my own favorite recipes to add to my mom's already impressive repertoire. I even picked up a cherished family recipe from my husband's Dad. You see, Erick's grandma made these incredible Christmas Meringue cookies every year and they were my sweetie's absolute favorites as a kid. Sadly, his grandmother passed about 4 months before I met Erick, so I never got the chance to meet her. But, she was an incredible lady, and it is my pleasure to have been given one of her most special recipes so that I can make these cookies every year for her grandson and family to once again enjoy.

Normally, I make at least 14 or 15 different kinds of cookies... but, with my larger goal of losing the rest of the weight I want to lose always present in my mind, I didn't want to have a lot of cookies sitting around after the holidays are through. When that happens, there are only two people here to finish 'em off... and doing that every year is probably one of the bad habits that got me to the point where I had to lose 200 pounds, in the first place! lol So, this year, I cut it back to seven of our extended families' favorites. And, since everyone is always asking me for my recipes, I decided that it would be the PERFECT gift to pass out to all of you - I hope you all agree!

I made a recipe page from each of our seven favorites with my Yuletide kit. Each page is designed to print quality on an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet. PLUS, I even included a title page so you can print all the pages out, bind them up however you choose and keep it for years to come. Maybe you could even print up a couple last-minute gifts to toss in your bags! Whatever your choice, I hope you enjoy these recipes and that your family loves them, too. Simply click on the preview down below to download your recipes and if you do, please take a second to leave me a comment in that chat box over yonder in the sidebar. I always love to hear from my readers!

Tomorrow's gift, the 12th and final one for this year, will be handed out by Erica. I've set my blog to autopost since I know I'm going to be busy, busy! But, you'll be sure not to miss it - check back here after 6am EST. OK, and one final note - here is a copy of our Christmas card for this year - wishing you the MERRIEST of Christmases with love and thanks for your continued support of me and my designs!

Welcome to the 7th Day of Christmas - we're over halfway to Christmas! YEAH!

Today, your gift is desktop freebie for February, courtesy of Bree, my amazing CT Manager. All my girls are a special part of my life, truly. Bree means the world to me. She is sweet and caring, compassionate and loyal... and though we have never met in person, I am SO BLESSED to call her my friend. She is an amazing person and I truly can't imagine my life without her in it! I just felt that on my heart to share, so I hope you don't mind, lol. Bree has used one of my retired kits, Hearts Abound, to make this desktop freebie for you. Keep an eye out because I plan to release a "reloaded" version of this kit in the near future! The Scoop 12/18/09

Hi everyone! I know you are all starting to get REALLY busy for the holidays and maybe the stress is starting to set in. Take it from me - try to take some time to stop and smell the roses! It's pretty easy to end up with holiday burnout and that's just no fun. So, take in a movie, take a drive and enjoy some Christmas light... go get a mani/pedi. Whatever it is, try to take a couple hours out for YOU this weekend! My hubby and I are very excited about the new movie Avatar coming out today. Provided we don't get the dumping of snow that we *might* get later today, I think we'll be trying to take a break from the craziness to try and enjoy some time together at the movies. Fingers crossed!

That all said, here are my new releases for this week! I tried to pack in everything I had been working on because next week, I will have no new releases, since Friday is Christmas Day. And we should all be with our families, enjoying the day, and not worrying about new digiscrap products, right? LOL. This week, I have released a bunch of stuff I've been promising to people for a while that just took me some time to get around to. So, its a good "basic" week... with some last-minute holiday fun and new blogwear rolled in. Read on!

Just Journalin' volume 1 {template pack} by Trixie Scraps Designs

This one kinda came about after chatting with some of my Tweet followers this week. Seems there just aren't enough good templates out there for non-photo layouts. And, since I have the gift of gab and occasionally turn out a journaling-only layout, I turned some of my favorites into templates for you! Four templates, all 12x12, 300dpi layered PSD files which also come with the individual layers saved as PNGs. While they were originally designed for journaling-only layouts, they can easily be adapted to include photos if that's what you'd prefer to do. I got this to my girls really late this week, so no layouts to show off from the Stars, yet. But, I did receive a STUNNING layout from Jenny on the ScrapMatters design team. This uses a template from the set, plus a little bit from my kits Carly and Girls Day Out. I love Maya Angelou, so the writing Jenny included struck a chord with me, too!

Just the Basics: Bundle by Trixie Scraps Designs

This bundle came about after my beloved CT Manager, Bree, begged me numerous times to release a pack of basic, neutral papers. I think she was getting a bit sick of reaching for the same white patterned paper from You're a Star all the time! LOL. So, since she was so patient and waited on me so long, I didn't give her just one pack - she got THREE! The bundle comes with 8 papers each in white, black and neutral. It is sure to become a staple and is something every digiscrapper should have in their stash! If you collect my kits, you'll find this bundle will be very versatile and will work with lots of them! Each paper pack is also available for separate purchase (and is linked below), but you'll save 25% when you buy them in bundled form!

Just the Basics: Blacks by Trixie Scraps Designs
Just the Basics: Whites by Trixie Scraps Designs
Just the Basics: Neutrals by Trixie Scraps Designs

Again, I got done sorta late in the week with this stuff, so the girls didn't have much time to play. Carrin, however, Miss Super Speedy, did get two layouts done for me! They are both adorable!

Girls Day Out Blogwear Set by Trixie Scraps and Twinderland Scraps

The next set of fabulous blogwear in our line - Twinderland Scraps has done it again! This set is done with pieces from my kit "Girls Day Out." It may just be one of my favorites, yet! Girly and fun, its the perfect way to deck out a blog about YOU. Includes 3 backgrounds, 3 headers, 2 post dividers, 1 frame, 4 sidebar labels and complete installation instructions for BLOGGER. See the blogwear in action on the Girls Day Out demo blog!

Christmas Tags {element pack} by Trixie Scraps and Debra Pierce Designs

And finally, my Hybrid Artist Deb used my two Christmas kits to whip up this adorable little set of Christmas tags! It includes 16 tags, all saved as individual PNG files. You can fit about 8-10 of them to an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. For extra ease, print them out on sticker paper - then you just need to cut 'em out and stick 'em on! Best of all, if you are one of my newsletter subscribers, you can get this tag pack for FREE by using your subscriber coupon in the left-hand column of this newsletter.

A couple important things to note!
Don't forget about my $25 Shopping Spree giveaway!
The December Quickpage Exchange at ScrapMatters is going well so far - jump on board and play along!
Make sure you are picking up the Scrap Star's "12 Days of Christmas" gifts - visit my blog for details!

And that's my news for today! One last note before I go - if you don't already subscribe to the ScrapMatters newsletter, a little birdie told me you may just want to subscribe, since we'll have a special holiday card going out this week. And, it might just have a freebie from me in it, plus coupons and gifts from my fellow designers, too! Have a great weekend!!
