TTT Tuesday - Mixing Pictures

Hey everyone!  Welcome to Tips, Trends, and Techniques Tuesday.  Today I'm going to share a tip that I typically follow when scrapping vacations or other special places I visit.

When I'm in a new city or at a new attraction, I take TONS of pictures.  Have you every been to Disneyland and find yourself taking a picture (or 10) of just the castle or you go hiking and take a picture of just a waterfall? Then later you ask yourself why you didn't ask your kids to jump in the picture?  I used to ask myself that all the time but I've learned that it doesn't bother me one bit!  I love to take pictures of landmarks or flowers or mountains all by themselves and then mix them up with pictures of your family.  That way, it evokes memories of where you were and you can remember what you saw as well as documenting your family enjoying the outing!

For example:

On this page (using the Old Glory Bundle from Trixie Scraps and August Templatetopia from North Meets South Studios), we were at the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.  I was in awe of its size the whole time and just kept snapping pictures from different angles.  It was so big and wide at the base that I had to get a picture of my husband and son walking across to the other side just for a size comparison.  I didn't want to forget the view from the top so I stuck a picture of my two youngest peering out the window at the top as well as a view of downtown St. Louis.  I love using scenery shots, pictures of my family, and a little mix of both.  And when I look at this page, all of that grandness, the beautiful day, the beautiful view, and the awe of my kids and myself come flooding back!

Also using Viva La Vino

Here's another great example from Bree using Autumn on the Lake.

Thebeauty of using digital cameras is you can take scads and scads of pictures! Don't let those pictures go to waste because there aren't any family members in them. Put them to use and make a page that will bring back all those amazing memories. Have fun!
