Sentiment Sunday: TOUGH

It's one of my favorite Sunday posts on the Trixie blog, Sentiment Sunday!

This month's Sentiment Sunday came from a picture I've always loved of one of my little guys. This kid used to give us a run for our money when he was younger and it seemed like we were taking him to the ER at least once a year. Thankfully, that hasn't happened for years (knock on wood), but it's given me an inspiration for today's post.

I decided to go with the word TOUGH. My little guy has been a tough little sucker from day one. He didn't let injuries keep him down. In fact, in this layout, he was supposed to stay in the wrap for two weeks and to stay off of it. It so didn't last. He couldn't stand sitting still and wanted to be mobile, so he ignored his pain and toughed it out.

There are many different ways TOUGH can be used. Sometimes TOUGH can lend itself to a more humorous side of things, but often time the word TOUGH implies difficulty in some way. I felt this was a good sentiment to go with and you can use this word in whatever way feels most appealing to you at this moment in time.

TOUGH

adjective

1 a : strong or firm in texture but flexible and not brittle
b : not easily chewed
2: glutinous, sticky
3: characterized by severity or uncompromising determination
4: capable of enduring strain, hardship, or severe labor
5: very hard to influence : stubborn
6: difficult to accomplish, resolve, endure, or deal with
7: stubbornly fought
8: unruly, rowdyish
9: marked by absence of softness or sentimentality

I kind of went with #3 and #4 for today's layout. I used That's My Boy and a template from Large And In Charge Vol. 2.

I would love to see what your definition of TOUGH currently is. Please create a layout and share with us in the gallery.
